Our daughter Abby seems to change more and more everyday.  Here is a video of  Abby starting to “talk.”  I guess she really had a lot to say!  Her facial expressions are the funniest thing!  I think she was listening to everyone talk around here and decided that she needed to also join in. Enjoy!

Post Election Reflections

November 7, 2008

I recently read Eric Redmond’s post on Justin Taylor’s Blog and I commend it to you to read, it really puts things in perspective. As Christians our response to any election (whether our candidate won or not) is to pray.  We need to pray for our President, and the rest of our government.  Obama may be the most liberal president that we have had in a long time.  He is one of the biggest proponents of abortion that have come to power.  Our national sin and shame of abortion will continue under this new administration.  We must pray. 1...

Voting

November 1, 2008

The election is just 3 days away.  I have been thinking a lot these past few weeks about the implications of this upcoming election.  What does this mean for our country, our economy, etc.?  The conclusion I have come to is that it does not matter one way or the other what happens.  What I mean by that is that God is sovereign over all things and that of course includes our upcoming election.  “Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases!”  (Psalm 115:3)  Our duty then is to vote, but we need to keep in mind...

This is a nifty guitar tuner that Sarah and I found online.  Sarah’s guitar broke a couple of years ago and we were able to fix it. So now it’s back in business.  We needed to tune it and found this online.  Pretty helpful. Guitar Tuner

BibleWorks Vocabulary for Page Kelley’s Biblical Hebrew

September 23, 2008

Greetings all.  As a student at Sangre de Cristo Seminary, I am taking Biblical Hebrew this semester.  We are using Page H. Kelley’s Biblical Hebrew An Introductory Grammar as our textbook.  I use BibleWorks 7, I like to use the vocabulary module that is built into the program (I used it, and still use it for Greek).  I could not find anyone else that had created a Hebrew vocabulary module for this textbook, so I created my own and I would like to share it with anyone who is interested in it.  Click here to download the file. I...

The Semester is coming to an end.

Greetings all, sorry it has been so long since my last entry, it has been crazy busy around here.  Abby is getting HUGE.  It’s amazing how quickly she is growing.  She is nearly 4 months old.  She has started smiling and laughing, as well as recognizing people.  Every stage is really neat! Also, we  have had a lot of visitors this summer.  Sarah’s mom came out for a month, my parents came out, and some of our friends from Tucson, Jeff, Beth, and Mary also came to visit!  This is the last week of class for the semester.  We...

Sand Dunes

Recently Sarah, Sarah’s Mom, her sister (Debbie), Abby, and I took at drive to the Great Sand Dunes National Park.  It is this amazing dune field in the middle of Colorado, right next to the mountains.  Some of the tallest sand dunes in North America are found here.  The photo gallery has some additional pictures of the dunes.  If you ever get the chance, you should check them out!

Laundry in Colorodo. . . IN JUNE!!!!

Thursdays are laundry day, yesterday it started to snow. . . it’s JUNE 5TH!! In Colorado in the mountains, you just never know what is going to happen. It’s sunny and warm today by the way. Go figure! There really was not enough that fell that it stuck too much to the ground (although it did stick to our laundry).  It seems really odd for it to snow in June the Northern Hemisphere.  Sarah’s mom said her friends back in South Africa wouldn’t believe it. . . well guys, there’s a video here for you, let us know what...

Back in Colorado

We arrived back in Colorado last weekend. It was actually snowing with the sun out when we arrived. We have settled back in nicely and Abby is adjusting well. Classes start-up again for me on Monday, and I am pretty excited about that. This should be a good, but challenging semester. As you can see from the photo, Abby is growing up quickly. Soon we will be sending her off to college! We are going this afternoon to Springs (Colorado Springs as the non-locals know it) to pick up Agogo (Abby’s grandmother, Sarah’s Mom) at the airport after her...

Moving Day

May 22, 2008

Hello from Albuquerque, New Mexico! We began our trip back to Colorado yesterday, and we will be arriving back in Colorado tomorrow. In an attempt to make the trip easier, Sarah and Abby flew to Albuquerque and I made the trip by car there. The drive from Tucson was extremely windy and dusty.  Apparently the Interstate between Lordsburg, NM and Las Cruces was closed because of dust-storms after I had come through. Last night we stayed with Sarah’s Aunt Ginny, Uncle John, and cousins Eileen, Heidi, and Lindi. Packing the car to get here was a real adventure. I...
