Some of you might know that I do some small scale web design. Mostly churches and non-profit organizations. My goal is to be able to do more of these kinds of jobs in order to support our family while I am at seminary. If you know of anyone needing a simple website or blog, please contact me and I will see what I can do. Below are some examples of some of the sites that I have worked on:
Grace OPC

This website was set up for Grace OPC in Springfield, IL. This is a small congregation that is devoted to the preaching of God’s Word. This is my latest website and it is still a work in progress. More links and pages will probably be added in the near future.
Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church

RMPC is a good sized PCA congregation in Tucson, AZ. This church is family oriented and committed to the preaching of God’s Word. This site uses flash for a rotating banner. Also includes drop-down menus and the sermon brower plugin for easy sorting of the mp3 sermon files.
Sangre de Cristo Seminary

Sangre de Cristo is a small reformed seminary neslted in the mountains of Colorado. The seminary focuses on the original languages an exegesis and preaching of God’s Word. The website design here is actually their blog that was designed to match the existing website.

This is a nifty guitar tuner that Sarah and I found online. Sarah’s guitar broke a couple of years ago and we were able to fix it. So now it’s back in business. We needed to tune it and found this online. Pretty helpful.

Greetings all. As a student at Sangre de Cristo Seminary, I am taking Biblical Hebrew this semester. We are using Page H. Kelley’s Biblical Hebrew An Introductory Grammar as our textbook. I use BibleWorks 7, I like to use the vocabulary module that is built into the program (I used it, and still use it for Greek). I could not find anyone else that had created a Hebrew vocabulary module for this textbook, so I created my own and I would like to share it with anyone who is interested in it. Click here to download the file. I created the file for BibleWorks 7, so I don’t know if it will work for earlier versions or not. Please let me know if you find any mistakes.
Blessings,
Paul

It’s been fun for me to find old friends from high school, college and beyond the last couple months using facebook. I’ve even been able to reconnect with family that I haven’t seen for years. Many will say this is a fake way to relate to people but I would say it’s impossible to really connect with over 200 people. Facebook makes it easy to know the basics of what is going on in their lives. Now, I don’t suggest this is the way to relate to close friends. Good old-fashioned sitting down and talking is the best for me. Some of the people that I have looked for however are not on facebook. Some have married and I don’t know their new last names. Which brings me to the thought that perhaps there are some out there looking for Sarah Armes but don’t know that I am now married. If you type in “Sarah Armes” in a search engine, this website of ours wouldn’t show up because until now, “Sarah Armes” was not connected with this website. But now if you type “Sarah Armes” this website should appear. So all my old friends….here Sarah Armes!

I am beginning to learn that sleep is really overrated . . . or at least that’s what my daughter would have us believe. It is amazing the amount of changes our lives have undergone in the past 2 weeks. We went from just the two of us to the three of us and our entire life now seems to revolve around the eating and sleeping schedule of Abigail (last night it seemed like every half hour). This is not news to “seasoned” parent, but this is expected from a brand new infant. Nevertheless, no matter how much I prepared myself for it, I was not prepared. I have to say that as much as I love to sleep at night, I love holding my daughter (Okay so I really like sleep)! It is amazing how much I am already starting to see her personality. Every day Abby seems to change just a little bit more. We were excited to find out yesterday that she is almost at 5lbs. Well, speaking of baby needs, I think it’s time for a diaper change

One of the really cool and amazing things about starting a website/blog is how quickly people seem to find it. One of the tools that We used on this site, on rinconpres.org, as well as many other sites I have worked on is Google Analytics. Google Analytics allows the webmaster to see who comes to the site, how long they stay there and what they are interested in seeing. It’s kind of neat to know that someone across the country or around the world is looking at your site. We have told some of our friends and family about the site, but it already looks like some other’s have stumbled onto it as well.
Here’s a screen shot of one of the screens that we see when looking at Google Analytics.
The system shows how people find your site (what keywords do they use, and who is linked to your site and sends referrals to it), how people navigate through the site, and what do they do while they are there. You can even pinpoint where a person is at, who their internet provider is and what their screen resolution and operating system is. Google Analytics is great for people who have a business site, or are just curious at who is looking at the content of their site or blog and what they are looking at there. If you want to take a tour of Google Analytics, click here. Thanks for visiting our site. Next time you come to visit, drop us a note and let us know how you are in the comments box and happy clicking!
